On this wiki, we plan to collect information & resources about authors whom we've hosted in Klein's schools. I hope that this space will be a collaborative one--if you know of another useful resource about an author you are hosting, add it to their page! If there's not a page for that author yet, create one by clicking New Page(top left corner below flower pot)!

Here's how you can add resources to our wiki:
Click on an author's name on the left to see the author's resources. If you know of another web page, journal article, etc. that would be useful to other librarians as they plan their author event,
Click on Edit This Page (top left of the tabs at the top of the page).
Make any changes you want to
Click Save at the bottom of the page.
If you see a mistake or find a dead link, you can fix it this way as well!

Purpose:
The purpose of this wiki is for Klein librarians to communicate and collaborate about author event information in a convenient and effective way, using technology. All our libraries host author visits or conduct author studies with students, and this is a way to share our resources about each of the authors and about how to make author visits more successful.
It is also our goal to explore the use of 21st century communications tools such as wikis in a school setting. In studying the Campus STaR Chart for Benfer, I found that Educator Preparation & Development is the area that has improved the least over the last three years. I hope to use this opportunity to create and share in an online community, and helping me to learn and improve my use of such online communications with faculty within my own school.

Please join the discussion--just click on the discussion tab at the top of the page to find our first discussion question!
As noted above, one of the STaR Chart focus areas for all Texas schools, and one that could be improved upon within my particular elementary school is Educator Preparation & Development. With this fact in mind, take a look at the discussion topics! Discuss and add your own questions when you have some that will get other librarians thinking about hosting better author events or facilitating the use of 21st century tools (like this wiki)!
